Yeah, she was a girl. Yeah, he was a guy. But it wasn't like that between them. Ozzie wasn't gay or anything, he noticed the fact that she was an attractive young woman, but it wasn't like that. They were friends, actually she was practically a sister to him. Which was fine since his actual sibling turned out to be such a douche. And even though he abhorred shopping with females, whenever he hung out with Maddie O'Sullivan, she pretty much wore the pants. She could drag him around town all day, forcing him into uncomfortable ladies wear stores (Victoria's Secret is no place for a girl to ask her guy friend if something made or would make her look fat, even in jest). Unfortunately, there was no saying 'no' to Maddie O'Sullivan and if there was anyone whose advice he needed more in the world, it was hers.
"So, I'm just gonna ask her out." He was saying. There was no asking who 'her' was, Ozzie had made it more than painfully obvious which girl was the subject of his affections. "Do you think she'll say yes?" He stopped at one of those vendor shops and touched a piece of jewelery that had caught his eye, but quickly fell back into line as soon as the sales person took notice of him. Some of the stuff on the trolleys were actually very nice, but the actual sales people were always insufferable to him. His attention from his 'girl problem' questions was briefly diverted when he saw a movie poster with some pasty creep of a dude and some chick who looked as though someone had told her the most puzzling riddle in the world. "What's this? Breaking Dawn?" Ozzie scrunched his nose, "Whys' that guy so creepy looking? And why are there girls getting pictures in front of the poster." Clearly Ozzie was not up-to-date on popular vampire culture.

“oh god, no. what girl in her right mind would accept this,” maddison began with a sarcastic drawl, her arms flailed outward as she gestured to ozzie, as though he were hiccup from how to train your dragon. now, maddie was having a particular good time with ozzie, and not because he was a fellow, good-looking ginger much like herself. first off, she could never fancy her pseudo-brother in that particular way, and second he was sort-of an oddball to begin with. in conclusion he just wasn’t her type. an unstable, self-imploding (quite literally) boy with bandages enveloping much of his face… he wasn’t exactly bachelor material, but maddie wanted to help him gain some kind of arm candy to boost his self-worth. “i’m just jesting, my dear watson. maybe she’s into the mummies or living time bombs,” maddie remarked with cynicism, her hand yanking on his arm as she weaved him through the crowded masses of frequent shoppers.
she held onto her pseudo-brother by the crook of his arm, leading him around as if he were a small child because she knew the second she would let go, he would flee the scene. ozzie had always dampened their shopping escapades with his sour attitude and if not that, then perhaps his sorrowful pouts and his concern about whether or not his love interest returned the same gesture. despite all of this, maddison rarely ever passed up a chance to take ozzie out of his shell and endeavor into the frontierland of shopping. his company was more enjoyable than her real, dumbshit evil brother. however, maddison’s lip twitched into what may be mistaken as a sneer, her eyes narrowing at the atrocious twihards and twimoms posing in front of the breaking dawn poster. for all her disgust for the mainstream franchise, laughter grated her throat when she heard ozzie’s inquires. wow, how long has he been living under that rock of his? “didn’t you know? girls are into pasty-white creepers now. so you better get your fangs on if you want a romp with that chick you're so obsessed with.”

Ozzie went into full-on pouting mode the second her sarcastic remarks came spilling from her lips. He should have known better than to even bother with asking her, she couldn't be serious even for one moment. Especially when it was at his expense. "Oh hardy har har." He grimaced at the fact that she was comparing him to a horror story character or the least reliable sort of mutant on the planet. There was more to him than his mutation or his scarred surface! At least, he would like to believe that there was more to him than that. "I think she might be into me." He admitted quietly, before adding in a whisper, "She's a lot nicer to me than everyone else." That was a big deal, Stella Dahl took shit from no one and frankly stated her opinion to everyone. She took no prisoners, except for his heart, that is. He allowed Maddie to intertwine their arms together, ignoring a few of the 'him with her' looks it earned from the general public.
Ozzie couldn't contain the bark of laughter that bubbled up from his belly, "What? Pasty dudes?" He shook his head, there were just some depths into the inner workings of a teenage girls mind he would never understand. "Vampires are creepy. And undead. I just don't, I just can't..." Did not compute, there were no words for him to describe the confusion. "Stella wouldn't like that guy anyways, he has date-rape face." In fact, just the idea that a guy like that would even speak to her made him bristle all over with jealous anger. But then he reminded himself it was just a poster. Maybe he was just a reverse twihard, feeling strong feelings of hatred rather than obsessive love. He glanced back at Maddie and remarked sardonically, "Next thing you know girls will be all over spray on tan douchebags from Jersey." Oh boy, clearly he had never seen Jersey Shore either.
But alas, perhaps he would have to leave the topic behind for another day, he pulled her to a stop while her arm was still entwined in his own, "Are you going to buy anything?" Seriously, they'd been here practically an hour and every store it had been 'I really like it, but I'll think about it and come back.' Honestly, commitment issues much?
