No trolling, no pointless arguments and don't harass your fellow members. If you really have some beef with another member, then use MSN or PM’s, but don't do it on the board and in the Cbox. It tends to make the entire board look bad, and we just can’t have that. READ THE IMPORTANT STUFF. Go through all the rules and important information before even thinking about posting your character profile. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to PM one of the staff or ask us questions. We love helping out our members because it helps us feel helpful and parental and all that jazz. NO ADVERTISING OUTSIDE THE PLUG BOARD. By this, we mean no linking in the Cbox, no ads in your signature and anything else sneaky and creative you can think of. All advertisements are to be in the Plug Board and we expect them to stay there; any ads outside of it will be swiftly deleted.[/classy] [classy=apphead]PROFILE AND APPLICATION[/classy] [classy=blocktext] POST IN THE NOTIFICATION THREAD WHEN DONE. When you’re finished your app, simply post in this thread with a link back to your profile and we’ll jump right on that. Whether we approved your app or sent it to revision for more work, we’ll delete your post in the Notification Thread, so when it’s gone you know we’ve taken a look at it. USE ANIME-ESQUE CLAIMS. We only allow face claims anime/manga in nature. Also, we won’t accept a character without a face-claim--no CGI or original art, either! Ask your friendly ol' fellow members if you need any help. DON’T ABUSE THE FACE-CLAIM RESERVE. We do allow people to reserve face-claims if they’re unable to start a profile at the moment, but don’t take advantage of this, guys. It’s okay if maybe you’ll be able start in a day or two, but a week starts to border on the excessive. Other people may want to use that claim and it’s completely unfair for you to sit there and hog it to yourself, regardless of how busy you are.[/classy] [classy=apphead]IN-CHARACTER[/classy] [classy=blocktext] NO POWER-PLAYING OR GOD-MODDING. Now, I know that’s a bit hard to say since this is a super-power RP, but we still want to avoid it. No instant hits, constant dodging of attacks or actually controlling the other character. There’s a reason why we out-ruled some super-powers; the risk of power-playing is simply too high to allow them. It’s impossible for us to give concrete guidelines, but if we see a situation in which a player is doing this, we’re not going to hesitate to point it out. DON’T MAKE YOUR POST A RAINBOW. It’s perfectly fine to have colored speech and thoughts or a post template, but don’t make the entire post rainbow clown-puke. It's tough on the eyes for some members. NO MARY-SUES/GARY STU’S. We don’t like them and no one else does; these are characters that are just perfect in every fashion possible and couldn’t be unlikeable in any form. No one likes that person. They are not fun. Give your character some flaws, because he/she wouldn’t be fun otherwise. NO SUDDEN PERSONALITY CHANGES. If your character is known for being a cynical anti-social bastard, he shouldn’t be smiling bright and giving hugs out to someone in a matter of one post. You make a character with a personality, stick to it. We do encourage character development, but that doesn’t happen in just a few posts. Work with what you got and develop over a long period; we totally encourage that.[/classy] [classy=apphead]MISCELLANEOUS[/classy] [classy=blocktext] STAY ACTIVE, FOOL. We don’t have any particularly strict rules in maintaining activity, because life is a bitch. However, we do notice when someone is completely inactive, and we will delete their character. The best and easiest way to avoid this is to simply RP; if you’re that swamped, then post when you get a chance. But if you’re fairly sure that life is going to keep you inactive for ages, consider simply backing out of the RP until everything is settled. RP will be here when you get back. BRANCH OUT, YO! We understand that certain people have comfort zones and that they tend to RP with the same group; that is perfectly understandable. However, the best part of the RP experience is finding new people to have fun with. So, we really do encourage you to, you know…branch out! YOU SHOULD PROBABLY RP. We don’t mean post in games or post in plots; we can definitely admit that’s pretty important to RP, but it isn’t everything. More than anything, you should actually whip up a thread and post in it. Isn’t that’s why you’re here, after all? Don’t just plot for the sake of having tons of plots; plot because you plan to actually RP these out and turn them into beings of pure ‘effin awesome.[/classy] |
