- QUIRKS: the resident handicap of the academy (besides those deaf weirdos and that corner of mutes), marley is appropriately named hot wheels for her power and her wheelchair. while she has a normal wheel chair in typical circumstances (although it is motorized because it gets old pushing yourself everywhere), her super hero wheelchair is decked out.
she has a fondness for watching things be broken apart and destroyed. robot wars? hell yes.
while marley does have a sense of humor, her general demeanor is very serious and business like. she gets everything done on time and overachieves. she does not take well to tomfoolery when it isn't the time nor place. she can be hard to work with because of it.
[/classy] [classy=apphead]ORIGIN[/classy] [classy=blocktext] at the age of thirteen, marley fell victim to an awful car accident. her parents and her were flipped upside down and while her parents were for the most part okay (no severe long term damage), thirteen year old marley found herself pinned with a broken spine and severe brain damage. she was taken to the emergency room and in there, things happened that she will never be able to recall. while her head was okay in the end, her spine was too damaged to be fixed and she was left a paralegiac. thirteen years old, in the throes of puberty, and now damaged for life, marley was angry at the world and it was at that point her power came into play when she set her house on fire in a massive fit. it was not much long after she was taken to the academy, given her nature as a super, and she has since come a long way. generally optimistic and no longer upset about the fact she can't walk, marley still has her bad days where she just wants the world to burn.[/classy] [classy=apphead]SKILLS[/classy] [classy=listtext] - HAND TO HAND COMBAT: when forced into hand to hand combat, marley is highly profecient, a must given her limited mobility. while it's still adviseable she doesn't get into close combat, she can defend herself if forced to. excelling mostly in blocking, she can still give a nasty right hook. marley has, in addition, learned to incorporate her wheelchair to help with agility and evasiveness.[liststyle]#[/liststyle]
- WHEELCHAIR PROWESS: again, marley has a wheelchair. while her typical wheelchair is pretty boring as far as things go, her superhero one is about as high tech as it gets. it has a desk area in the front, serving as a seat belt of sorts, but also enabling marley to merely touch it for it do as she pleases. with rapid hand movements, marley can spin herself around, do a wheely, run over people's feet, and even use google.
[/classy] [classy=apphead]POWERS[/classy] [classy=listtext] - PYROKINESIS: some people fly, some people have super strength, some people can see through walls or shoot laserbeams from their eyes, but hot wheels sets things on fire with her mind. her power is limited to about ten feet around her, which if you knock her off her wheelchair, is incredibly easy to stay out of range of. additionally, to be really effective, marley has to use her hands to help guide the flames if she isn't just randomly making things go up in fire. she also needs to be able to see what she is aiming at. if she wants to be scary and cool and set everything around her on fire, it only works with inanimate objects. if she wants, to say, burn someone, she has to actually look at them. the fire itself only burns for around a minute before dying out and you can always just stop, drop, and roll to save yourself some time.
her power is not just limited to random bursts of fire. marley can create and manipulate it, forming a tornado around herself that lasts about fifteen seconds, send off fire bolts and discs, and a handful of other things. she cannot put fire out and it can only die out by itself, but she can control how long it lasts although other factors (such as size) come into play.[liststyle]#[/liststyle]
