[classy=apphead]PERSONALITY[/classy] [classy=listtext]
[classy=apphead]ORIGIN[/classy] [classy=blocktext] Leta von Brandt, formerly known as Case 1374, is the clone of super villainess Silhouette and consequently the genetic daughter of the super villain king pin The Shadowhand. Leta was cloned from The Shadowhand’s actual daughter Marisol and was genetically engineered since the day of her ‘conception’ to have the ability to cause massive blackouts. However, as she grew older her powers manifested to the point where she could not only ‘steal’ light but manipulate it as well, making her both Shadowhand’s greatest ally and greatest weakness. Case 1374 was merely one of many experiments that Shadowhand invested in, but she was one of the few that survived. She is also the only one on record that has escaped. Leta grew up knowing what she was and for what purpose she lived for. Since she knew nothing else she did not think twice about her circumstances until she was given small glimpses of the outside world by the geneticist Doctor Nadine von Brandt. Dr. von Brandt was in charge of studying Leta’s genetic code as she progressed. Leta and the doctor grew attached to each other and formed a bond akin to mother and daughter. Since she couldn’t take the child outside the lab, Dr. von Brandt taught Leta things about the outside world. As Leta got older, Dr. von Brandt gave Leta books and gifts from the outside world as presents. Even though she knew many stories she read in those books weren’t true, the things Leta read in her books made her second guess what was right and what was wrong. The more she read and grew to love the outside world, the more she hated being trapped in a lab. Through books she learned of things such as love and friendship. She began to crave a life outside of what she was designed for. Dr. von Brandt also began to second guess the work she was doing under The Shadowhand’s command. In spite of the severe consequences of her actions, Dr. von Brandt helped a then twelve-year-old Leta escape the lab by contacting the Avengers. During the escape Dr. von Brandt was trapped as the lab went into a lockdown and forced Leta to go on without her. She was killed for her insubordination, though to this day Leta has no idea whether Dr. von Brandt is actually alive or dead. Leta was taken in by S.H.I.E.L.D. and handed over to the Avengers. She fell into the custody the late Soothsayer, a powerful telepath who was a descendant of the legendary oracle Cassandra. He helped train and subdue Leta, and also gave her a first name. Soothsayer died a year and a half ago by the hand of a mercenary working for The Kollective. Leta's main goal is to become powerful enough to destroy Shadowhand and assist The Avengers of ridding the world of The Kollective. She also wants to put away her 'sister', Silhouette, and find out the identity of the mercenary that killed Soothsayer. [/classy] [classy=apphead]SKILLS[/classy] [classy=listtext]
